TEAM FORMATS
Men’s = 5 a side
Men's Double Court = 6 a side
Ladies = 4 a side
Mixed = 4 a side
Juniors = 5 a side
SUBSTITUTIONS
All teams may only make a sub whilst there is a stop in play. For example after a goal has been scored or a foul has been committed.
No substitutions may be made after the 2min mark in the 2nd half.
COSTS
Men’s 5 a side = $50 per team
Men's 6 a side = $78 per team
Ladies = $40 per team
Mixed = $40 per team
Juniors = $8 per person.
* All teams that join any of our competitions are required to pay a once off registration fee; which is the same as listed above
*All captains or managers must pay the game fee before the match starts. If that fee isn’t in on time the referee can start the clock and award the opposing team a goal.
UNIFORMS
All teams must have matching shirts by their 4th scheduled match. Goalkeepers may wear a different coloured top. No person may play in bare feet, thongs, jeans, ridged boots, steel capped boots or spikes.
*All teams that disregard the dress code will either lose their team points or be placed out of our competition.
POINTS
Win = 4 points
Draw = 2 points
Loss = 0 points
*All goals for and against create their goal difference; determining ladder positions.
FORFEITS
All teams need to give the centre 24hrs notice if they can’t play a match. If a team fails to turn up without giving Saxon’s notice the resulting game fee will be charged the following week; if teams do not pay what they owe the following week, management will put that team out of the competition.
RULES OF PLAY
SCORING
*A goal cannot be scored from a kick off; half way line. Eg. After a goal has been scored, stop in play.
*A goal cannot be scored from within a player’s own half without a touch or some sort of deflection.
*An attacker within the opposing goal area cannot score a goal.
*All of these rules result in a Goalkeeper’s ball.
GOAL AREA
*Is the square area surrounding the goals.
*The keeper may not play the ball outside the area.
*Neither strikers nor defender may play the ball inside the goal area; resulting in either a goalkeepers ball or a penalty.
FREE KICKS
A free kick is awarded for the following:
*Tackling from behind. *Slide tackling. *Handball. *Holding onto the nets for an excessive amount of time. *Obstruction. *Swearing. *Dangerous Play. *Playing the ball when you’re on the ground. *If the goalkeeper holds the ball for more than 7seconds. The ball is given to the opposition on half way.
*All free kicks are direct and no opposing player may stand within a meter of the ball when played.
ONE-TWO’S WITH KEEPER
No player on the court may One-Two with the goalkeeper, whether it is the defender passing to the keeper or the keeper passing to the defender; that player must pass to someone else.
*A penalty is awarded if the player intentionally One-Two’s with the keeper.
DISCIPLINARY CARDS
Yellow cards will be issued to players involved in rough play, deliberate handballs and or foul abusive language.
The penalty for a yellow card is 3 mins off court.
Red Cards
A red card will be issued to any player who collects a second yellow card
A red card will be issued to any player involved in any extremely rough play or a professional foul or a deliberate hand ball to prevent a goal being scored.
The penalty for a red card is expulsion from the current game and a one match suspension.
Any appeals to competition organizers by Monday lunchtime following the game in writing.
RESPECT
Saxon Sports is a family orientated sporting facility. We do not tolerate poor and abusive language and any type of physical behaviour such as fighting.
We endeavour to make your experience at the centre the best it can possibly be, excelling in premier sporting competitions whist containing a very friendly and family orientated culture.
In that regard we expect the same courtesy out of all of our patrons. Any altercations with staff, whether it simply be a referee, bar staff or management, we will take very seriously and if forced to take serious action; no matter the situation.
SEASON DURATION
Each of our seasons lasts anywhere between 12 weeks to 18 weeks dependant on time of year, public holidays and different seasonal sports.
GAME DURATION
Men’s Soccer 5 a side – 15min halves
Mens Soccer 6 a side - 20 min halves
Ladies Soccer – 13min halves
Mixed Soccer – 13min halves
Junior Soccer – 13min halves
FINALS MATCHES
Any finals game that sees the scores tied at full time will be decided by sudden death Golden Goal i.e. first goal wins.
